Paaspop

Responsive Website

Project

My main assignment as an intern at Paaspop Events was to create a responsive website for www.paaspop.nl. The desktop version was already created, but there was no website version for mobile devices. I began researching the wants and needs of the festival visitor regarding a mobile website. As all the interviews gave quite logical answers, I decided to extend my research. The main question I wanted to answer is why people buy a festival ticket and how can a mobile website increase ticket sales. In my research I came to the conclusion that people go to festivals to get an unforgettable memory. These unforgettable memories were usually triggered by un-expecting events, so I came to the conclusion that to increase ticket sales using a un-expecting, surprising event could trigger to user to buy a festival ticket. Still keeping in mind my earlier research about the wants and needs of the festival visitor, I of course wanted to make the website user-friendly. So my objective was to create un-expecting events in the website, but keep it completely user friendly for the user. With this in mind I created the concept of color change. To trigger users to look at more pages and get to know Paaspop, I decided to change every menu button of background color when the user has visited a page. This way the vistor has a direct view of which pages he/she has visited and which ones he/she hasn't yet looked at. It's a kind reward that your menu buttons will turn from grey to a color when you've visited a page on the website. It was also a must to keep the call-to-action a centre stage spot. So I created a ticket button on the homepage, directly in view. The entire website I designed according to usability rules. I then paper prototyped the entire website to make sure the design was user-friendly. The final step was to develop the website.www.paaspop.nl
